Movie Serial Madness: THE SHADOW (1940) D: James W. Horne. Victor Jory stars in this Columbia serial featuring the pulp character. Not bad, but very repetitive, mostly having Jory just get up and dust himself off after being buried in rubble after each cliffhanger. #filmsky #serials #Columbia
Cliffhanger Serial Madness: THE VANISHING SHADOW (1934) Directed by Lew Landers. Universal serial starring Onslow Stevens is one of the first featuring sci-fi stuff like an invisibility shield, death rays and a robot. Too bad it focuses mostly on stolen stocks and is pretty slow. #filmsky #serials
Indulging in my love for old movie serials again, this time with Republic’s wacky, action-packed MANHUNT OF MYSTERY ISLAND (1945) starring Roy Barcroft as Captain Mephisto, a reincarnated pirate causing havoc in modern day. Exciting, goofy and fun. #filmsky #moviesky #cliffhanger #serials

The House by the Cemetery (1981, Lucio Fulci)
Easy to do. Nothing is more confusing than the titles of spaghetti westerns. 👍
I hate to be that guy, but the above, Giulialano Gemma starred in Arizona Colt (1966). ARIZONA COLT RETURNS (1970) stars Anthony Steffen.
The phenomenal score for CHALLENGERS got snubbed, imo.
Watching AGFA’s Blood-A-Rama Triple Frightmare II blu-ray in “drive-in mode.” Bought it for THE UNDERTAKER AND PALS, and Patton Oswald’s commentary. It first warped my brain in 1966 at a drive-in a triple feature with my folks. #grindhouse #drivein

One of several films made by Italian production companies in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the early 1970s, but probably the only one that qualified as a giallo. This used to play on the Albuquerque local TV weekday afternoon “Dialing for Dollars” movie slot constantly during the late ‘70s - ‘80s.

#JanuaryGiallo Day 17

THE MAN WITH ICY EYES (1971), Alberto De Martino

It's a race against time to exonerate a death row inmate an Italian American giornalista at Albuquerque's Sentinel helped convict, his own death predicted by a psychic to occur at midnight. Thank goodness it's daylight savings.
Just getting to these films and just watched Baby Face and Madam Satan. Great podcast!
Here’s a movie poster for NINE GUESTS FOR A CRIME (1977) that hopefully won’t cause issues. #JanuaryGiallo #grindhouse
Today’s #JanuaryGiallo is NINE GUESTS FOR A CRIME (1977), starring Arthur Kennedy and John Richardson. #grindhouse Hanky panky & murder amongst a rich family on a private island.
Another Anthony Steffan flick for my next #JanuaryGiallo, the Haitian set TROPIC OF CANCER (1972) Directed by Gian Paolo Lomi & Edoardo Mulargia. Also starring Anita Strindberg. Looks promising. #grindhouse
I have this on dvd, but I have yet to watch it.
