Friday made it, and it brought Other People's Music with. Have a read about cinematic pinball #synthwave, scuzzy industrial #IDM, chippy #electro spiked with #rock, conscious #hip-hop and a #darkwave deep dive. Read and listen here:

Have a listen to my recent album for a psychedelic dose of alien timbres, relentless beats and strange effects.

If I hit 500 streams for the month, I'll release 5 free DL codes a day until the end of the month. We're halfway there! Let's gooooo!

Life Pro Tip:
Use the Spotify Wrapped video message to fans to tell your parents that you’ll be visiting over Christmas
I’m not really good at the whole “social”, “engagement” or “organic profile building to ensure continued visibility and awareness of product output through non-traditional media channels direct to consumers” thing…

So here’s jacobisaacmusic.bandcamp.com/album/one
I made it.

How far will you go to be proven right?
I keep seeing things from creators highlighting Spotifys new terms about being able to use content to train their systems and create derivatives of their work.
I'm conflicted.
On one hand, Spotify is a platform that allows greater reach to listeners of my music.
On the other hand.
Fuck you, pay me.
Canal Boat Diaries has the whiplash effect of making me yearn to live a transient life on the British waterways, observing nature and all the beauty then immediately glad I don’t have to regularly manually pump my effluent.
You know, for a company who's primary function is to deliver packages, Evri sure as shit struggle with that concept.
I'd try to send them an email to complain but I'm certain it would bounce back as undeliverable.
Nah, I was generating slop before AI thought it was cool
Band names I'm reserving for potential future projects #421:

Three Egg Omelette
Physical media anchors you in a specific place and time that streaming can’t compete with.
Most of my records I like not just because of the music itself but where I was and who I was with when I bought it.
Choosing from a small collection.
It has qualities beyond just the sound.
Or someone who’s gone:
“Make something that sounds like Laura Marling” 10 times and calls it a day?

And the daunting thing is that it will only get harder to tell the distinction.

With the increase in AI music generation services and propagation on platforms, as a music consumer, I have to ask “where do I want to give my money?”

Musicians who have put countless hours, energy and personality into creating something that represents them at that moment in time?
What else were you gonna do with that tenner in your pocket?
It’s a beautiful Sunday, good opportunity to play my guitar!
No wait, I mean do housework.
Ah, no, actually tidy up the kids outdoor toys first.
But definitely after I’ve made lunch.
Bit knackered now, might just watch twelve episodes of King of the Hill and go to bed at 8pm
Sounds Elbow-adjacent in the best way! Could see you opening for them. ✌🏻
Where you at, Guy Garvey!
Take me down to Microsoft City,
Where I still can’t seem to get rid of Clippy
It’s an incredibly single-speed bike , moustache, chemex coffee, Sylvia Plath, upcycled furniture thing to say but there is something about the run out groove on a record that is just 🤌🏻🤌🏻
My biz is free to download, but if you want it for free and save the @bandcamp.com fee to add it to your collection:

So knowing where I can best focus my energies into the creative process hopefully means it’s easier in the future to make the things I want to make and not feel like I absolutely must do everything on my own and seek collaboration when I need to.

2 - I can move past these recordings now. Doing it myself and never being pleased with the results just led to wasted time tweaking to still be unhappy with it.
Couldn’t let it go.
Well, that’s this thing *done*, time to think of what’s next!

Not only has it improved things but also raised two important points for me creatively.
1 - mixing & mastering isn’t in my skill set, and that’s cool. I’ve tried it, my brain doesn’t get it. For the next thing I do, I know where to draw my line and hand over to others.
