I just saw an advert on my kids’ show for a toy called ASMR Studio… kids can pretend to be making an ASMR video. What in the name of Drew Barrymore is going on?! 😂

Me to 4-year-old: Take those pants off your head so I can put your jumper on you.

4: Aw, why do YOU get to choose what to do?

Have you ever been making a cup of tea and you go to the fridge to get the milk but you still have the kettle in your hand so you nearly put the kettle in the fridge?

That’s how tired I am today 🥱

My 7-year-old told me that he learnt about the Big Bang theory in school today. I asked him what he thought about it.

He said, “It sounds pretty cool, but who did it?”

He then proceeded to explain using Lego how stuff doesn’t happen without someone doing it 😂

That’s my boy!

Loved starting the Sabbath practice with our Life Group tonight from Practicing the Way!

Our group has a range of Christian experience, but most have never practiced the Sabbath. All were excited to give it a go!

More than anything, today is a great day for the Church to take seriously the Sermon on the Mount.

May we as followers of Jesus organize our lives around his presence and his teachings, offering a prophetic and priestly witness that confounds the world.

Everyone loves a good FA Cup upset until it’s your team struggling to beat Tamworth.
We head to extra time.

“You’ve been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who is coming to save you?”

If it’s these two, I’m in serious trouble. My only hope is that they bring Luke.

7-year-old: Daddy, what do you do at nighttime?

Me: Sleep

7: No, what do you do once we’ve gone to bed?

Me: Celebrate

Watching Despicable Me 3 on ITV with the kids. This is the first time they’ve been exposed to TV with adverts, because pretty much everything they watch is on streaming services. They don’t understand why we can’t skip the ads 😂

Watching the London fireworks and I can only imagine that this was the conversation they had in the planning meeting:

“What music should we use for the display?”

“All of it.”

“All… the music? Are you sure?”

“Yes. Use ALL THE MUSIC.”

Have you ever tried to hear God but kept getting distracted? Perhaps these words from Henri Nouwen will help you like they’ve helped me.

The simple practice of short, repetitive prayers focuses the mind and heart, and prepares us to hear the voice of God.

Just had some Jehovah’s Witnesses come to the door. Always fun to debate the nature of heaven, the Kingdom of God, and the person of Jesus.

They said some stuff I’ve never heard before as well. Apparently Jesus and the Archangel Michael are the same person? 🤔

My year in books. Standouts for me this year were Practicing the Way by John Mark Comer, and The Sunlit Man by Brandon Sanderson (I re-read SO MUCH of his stuff this year but this was the best first-time read for me)

It’s always interesting to see how those who want to enforce the BBC’s impartiality rules are conspicuously silent when a BBC presenter is showing a bias towards the Tories.
Part of the reason why many people have a problem with Kuenssberg. There is a clear line between interrogating a policy and actively playing defence for the Tories - a defence which she often ascribes to "viewers".

Well, it is then perfectly fair for viewers to say: Hang on! No, I don't think that!

I was wondering why Elden Ring was my most played game this year, and then I remembered that Erdtree came out 😂

I’m only about four chapters into Wind and Truth and so far nothing much has happened but also SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED!

This book is going to pop off, I can just tell. Lore drops all over the place. Easter egg after Easter egg. I’m both excited and scared.

Happy 30th anniversary PlayStation! I didn’t get one at launch, but I did save up my pennies in a jar with my brother and in 1997 we took it down to Electronics Boutique and bought our first PlayStation and a copy of Final Fantasy 7. Life was never the same again!
