I really like bright and cartoony characters wearing darker more serious outfits, I also adore freckles :3 I also think there's a nice balance between the fluffy and round like his hair, nose and cheek markings vs sharp and geometrical like his piercing, stars and the squares on his bandana :3

I think it's becoming clear that if you like indie creators, you're going to need to support them any way you can. And that doesn't mean money, just spreading worth of mouth can be powerful as well.
