We NEED to figure out how to do the math to demonstrate that these expensive drugs can save us more than they cost us. That’s the only way to move past this narrative given how our politics, health and policy systems work.
A couple of Dr Trish Caetano’s slides from today’s presentation at the Garrod Symposium at UBC. Takeaway: drugs for rare diseases can be expensive and budgets are thin [we all know this narrative]. So what do we need to do?
Thank you, Elizabeth. More to come tomorrow - quite a few outlets reached out.

My humble suggestion is that if PP wants ethics laws to change he should put them in his platform. Force a discussion about who should disclose & when. I see no downside to having this dialogue.
