This is from a hike earlier this fall, in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. Mont Ham. You can't tell from my video but the colours were beautiful along the route, especially through Orford and Bromont.
Did you mean the university of Québec at Montreal? UQAM?
The view from the top of Mont Loup Garou (werewolf mountain, in French) in the Laurentians, this weekend. Yes, it's past peak colours. It's a nice 2-2.5 hour hike through woods and there's a cabin at the top if you want to stop for lunch. #hiking #Québec
It's past peak colours up in the Laurentians. Still beautiful and splendid for a hike and a spa day. This was at Mont Loup Garou (means werewolf in French).
Good point that it wasn't strictly Canada per se. I was thinking that they ought to have had a stronger position against slavery.
Bananas to think that Canada remained neutral during the American civil war!
I thought we were done with this now. So last winter!
Totally. My mother is from Chile and she is always in awe of how easy it is to find parking in Montreal.
Yesterday was a beautiful day for a bike ride along the Chambly canal.
Immediately identify the tourist who tells you how much they love the "old town" in MON-tree-al. Nevermind pronouncing in French: English locals call it Old Mun-tree-al. Si non, c'est le vieux Moh-reh-al
I was laughed at, literally, by border agents on my way into Scotland when I mispronounced Edinburgh.🫣
Just walked by it tonight!
Not Soraya, please! You don't have to vote for Craig, but please don't help usher in an era of torn-up bike paths and Airbnb's run amok.
It was a beautiful day for a bike ride on the P'tit train du nord. Traffic was yucky, though. Why can't we have good public transit to the Laurentians on weekends?
Stop making stuff up, that's like wearing a Bruins jersey in Montreal.
To be fair, I had a typo. The correct name in French is les Habitants Canadiens, esses all the way.
I don't know the back story to this singular names thing is, but I'm happy to be swept up in the tsunami. 🌊
Montreal Canadien. The name is French. Le habitants Canadiens=the Habs
I crossed paths with Leonard Cohen once, on St. Laurent Blvd, early 2000s. He was all in white and, I swear, he was glowing. Our local saint. I've only ever seen one other person (in person) who looked like they had a literal aura around them and it was David Bowie. #livesofthesaints
Oh yeah! I did this on Sunday. My plan was to take the kids to Mont St Hilaire but I was too late and all the tickets were sold (darn environmentalists, protecting the darn environment from too many visitors, argh) so I pivoted: a walk up to the Outremont summit of Mount Royal, through the cemetery
Oh! Oops, sorry. I hadn't even heard of red-bellied woodpeckers before!
