This is the "we're inevitable" strategy. Don't fall for it. Don't ignore what's going on to the point where if he just leaves it's a relief. It's no sure thing he'll make this term going by his appearance and other struggles.
One would have figured his 2016 election eve tweet assuring his supporters that they weren't racist if they voted for Trump would have been sufficient. I'm reminded of that every time I see a quote from him that decried some SCOTUS ruling.

Because even Republican politicians can't waltz onto White House grounds for photo ops. Curse the Democrats for voters electing Trump...twice. Along with a Republican congress. The voters of course are innocent. Now as the minority party they refuse to turn water into wine. Outrageous.
