re: "remigration", having foreign cultural elements leave your polity can be a net good socially, but only considerable if it were legal and affects very recent arrivals (not people accustomed to your country and no other—e.g. 48yo who immigrated at 5yo). In general, bad rhetoric & policy.

I don't know if the American focus on small businesses isn't all just bullshit. I don't get what's so great about them compared with big enterprises. It's a focus that doesn't show up nearly as strongly in other countries. It always feels a little bit like propaganda.

I thought society had figured out that we don't want soldiers to do literally anything they're ordered no matter what. There are supposed to be some standards, some lines you don't cross, not unconditional obedience.

to this day I never saw any evidence of Biden losing his mind and forgetting what he was talking about or rambling incoherently. the worst thing he ever did was struggle for a few seconds to get his words out properly. but somehow the internet convinced people he had a brain issue or something

it's like a stupid trolley problem. like sure, oil is destroying the planet, but if we don't build this new oil pipeline, then people will get mad and vote in a party that will build 2 oil pipelines.
