Millions of Americans are marching against Trump today. I sure hope no leader from Australia is about to pop over and bend the knee to him, offer him tribute and fawning adoration, maybe some of our resources and real estate for US military bases. Surely that won’t happen.

We talk about CO2 emissions, but we really care about CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere.
If the land & oceans no longer soak up half of the carbon humans emit--and the land sink disappeared in 2023--we are in a whole new ballgame.
2024 saw the biggest increase ever.

Vaguely recall a year 9 or 10 trip too. Might have been some pot and heavy duty pillow fights in that one 😐
So there's some nostalgic connection there but we won't get to share it while there this time around. Will have to go back and do it again . Also, I'm so happy she and her friends get to enjoy this Australian right of passage as we did in year 6 back in the day.
We visited dear friends in Belconnen when our daughter was 6 - 8 weeks old in utero nearly 13 years ago. She got the pre birth nickname Boomba on that trip.
I spent some time there playing in bands in my early 20s while a full time music student in nearby Goulburn.
Weird because we also have a connection with Canberra. While I was born there, my family moved away before I was 6 months old. Yet it's still on my birth certificate 56 years later.
We won't see her for 5 days, just deliver her meals to the accommodation. Longest we've been separated for. Will be working remotely half day flex leave
Next week is going to be weird. We're all going to my birth city Canberra, the capital of Australia, but not as a family. It's our 12yo daughters school camp. But because she is allergic to egg and peanuts, we need to go to prep her meals separately from everyone else.
