I'm proud to share this new drawing, titled "Insect Gate," which is inspired by the iridescent shells of beetles that I studied as a child. 12x18 inches, ink on paper.

President Trump's executive order to eliminate the Institute of Museum & Library Services would have disastrous effects for communities nationwide. We call on all Americans who value reading & learning to reach out to their elected leaders.

Here's a little bit of a feed cleanser for y'all. My partner painted this today and it's these moments of joy that help me remember to breathe when things are overwhelming.
I'll probably never have a post as popular as my last one, but who cares? Here's a new 5x7 watercolor I made today, titled "Snake and Buddies." My partner and I love it, so we decided to keep it.

My partner just finished this lovely, meditative drawing. We talk about "slow [cooking, reading, librarianship, etc.] all the time, but in this age of scrolling, there is much to be said for slow looking. It's even more amazing in person. You can DM him if you're interested in buying it.

Since I'm going to cut down on media consumption to preserve my mental health, I plan to really dig into my TBR pile. What are you all reading right now?

Welp. Thought I would come back after failing miserably at using this a year ago. But need to find a healthier place to be in a community.

Trying this out. Failed miserably at Mastodon (although I love the band!). Hoping to replicate the best parts of that single letter app. Looking for a wonderfully weird blend in my feed of pro-wrestling and academic libraries. Let's go!
