In Progress was proud to act as a partner site and host for Widening the Circle, a statewide conference about racism and the pursuit of racial equity in rural landscapes. We listened to speakers and then embarked in our own conversations about being singled out as other in places you call home.
Such creative energy!

We had artists of all ages working together to create music on day 2 of "The Art of Music". It's always a great privilege to watch an artistic discipline come to life with new learners.

The talented and creative Roxanne Zapata made sure to take photos of staff (with herself --also staff) so we can remember the developing talent in the room.

Pictured are Roxanne, Rena, Jeremy, and Sajid being artists and having fun on our developing music scene!

We had so much fun learning the art of music with IP artist and board member Jeremy Gardner. There is so much to learn in this area and it's new for us here in Crookston, but Jeremy came ready to work with singers, writers, and producers!

Our Qhia Dab Neeg Film Series crew have been meeting and relentlessly planning the implementation of film representation, filmmaker interviews, screening coordination, and so much more. It's easy to not notice the work behind the scenes, but the results are historic and are reaching full houses.
During this year's final mentor dinner, we discussed topics that stretched from mentorship refinements, personal artistic projects, and program wind downs due to our '26 budget forecasting. We also talked about AI and the approaches, opportunities, and pitfalls that we are beginning to grapple with.
Did a check-in with IP artist TJ Lor last week. She is currently fulfilling her work on a state arts board grant she received earlier this year. The work is taking longer than expected, but it is worth the wait.

We are so proud to have walked with her on this path to artistry!

Today, I came into InProgress and mainly worked on updating web profiles. I'm now over halfway done, with around 30-40 more to get through. Although many require rewritten biographies, I get small reprieves when the only thing that needs to be changed is page arrangement.
