It's infuriating that the Inland region has been overrun by the logistics industry, we couldn't at least have gotten a network of safe bikeways built out as part of the deal. (No, stripes in the gutter of stroads doesn't count.)

I did some field research awhile back to see how the Dutch do bike lanes in industrial areas and—folks—they're better than the shit we have in the city.
Green semi truck crossing a bike lane protected by a wide grassy area and trees. Photo by me. Red protected bike lane crossing a driveway. Photo by me. Protected intersection with red semi truck. Photo by me. Nice red protected bike lane as far as the eye can see. Photo by me.

Hydrogen trains will continue to prove a distraction to true regional rail and electrified service in California.

Exhibit #869: SBCTA is cutting service on the Arrow in the early mornings and nights for 3 months in order to test the hydrogen unit metrolinktrains.com/rider-info/a...
Arrow Train Service Advisory:
Beginning Nov. 11 2024 and continuing through January 2025, weekday morning Arrow trains 3801, 3802, 3803 and 3804, along with evening Arrow trains 3848, 3849, 3850 and 3851 will be suspended as Metrolink performs Zero-Emission Multiple Unit (ZEMU) overnight testing.

The ZEMU will operate between San Bernardino and Redlands each weeknight for needed testing and will follow crossing Quiet Zone guidelines.

Arrow passenger rail service is scheduled to begin each weekday at 4:48 a.m. with eastbound train 3806 and end with westbound train 3847 reaching the San Bernardino-Downtown Station at 9:15 p.m.

Metrolink San Bernardino Line Express train from Redlands to Los Angeles will operate normally during this time period.
