If you refuse to learn anything, you can claim anything as a base for "differing perspective" and "believing differently" and justify doing anything.

This is definitely true, but also, Democrats tend to not really clean up the mess because alot of what Republicans do end up being useful and profitable for them and so they kinda just abide and say "sorry that's not a priority right now" and then the cycle repeats again and again.

I really think a big part of the problem is decadence, like...people not really viscerally understanding the mechanics of psychology and the struggle for survival. People are too sheltered and don't know how to meaningfully combat a threat, and that has become very apparent in the past few decades.
