Eurasian magpie / Sroka (Pica pica)
I adore magpies. The iridescent shine on the feathers is absolutely stunning each time.
In my previous place, I used to set out a bowl with water on a balcony and a pair of magpies always came to drink and bathe 🖤

Another pretty squirrel we encountered in the park last Saturday 01.11.25

It was quite timid but still curious enough to hang around. Whenever a dog was passing by it ran up the tree, squeaking and swishing its tail in either fear or agitation.
Here are a few shots of it in the afternoon light ✨️

Beautiful red squirrel in brownish-gray winter coat with red fur on its arms and legs. Reminds me of island foxes.

Last in this batch is #Tourmaline var. #Schorl, showing off its trigonal system with beautiful terminations. It reminds me of something but I can never exactly tell what.
There's something really enchanting about smooth, polished, black surfaces.

Adding to the family of I-can't-believe-this-isn't-named-after-the-animal, here's #Crocoite🐊 - with burning orange crystals and a cavernous look that reminds me of a collapsed colonnade.

Here's a mix of #Galena, calcite & dark sphalerite. Can never get enough of those alienlike shapes, somehow looking equally geometric and natural.
I picked this specimen up because it reminded me of a friend's fursona (bonus points if you can guess who 👀)

Next up: #Wulfenite with its gentle yet fiery orange tint and a myriad bright reflections. I refuse to accept it was named after a guy - to me this will always be the Wolf Stone 🐺🧡
(perhaps Fox would be more fitting though?)

Up first - #Wavellite! This yellowish-green mineral forms stunning radial patterns. What do they remind you of?

Saw a whole bunch of them frolicking in the bushes while I was visiting my hometown.

Red squirrels are getting fluffier by the day. Coats are getting grayer and growing a lot of fluff on their pointy ears. 🐿️

Eurasian jay / Sójka (Garrulus glandarius)
Shot today 29/10/1025
It was helping itself to some food.
Very dynamic shot ✌️

Vagrant darter / Szablak zwyczajny (Sympetrum vulgatum)
Shot on 19/09/2025
Not that sure of its species, but I believe the red one is a male, while the other one is a female of one of the Sympetrum dragonflies.

Migrant hawker / Żagnica jesienna (Aeshna mixta)
Shot taken on 07/09/2025
I had to use really high shooter speed for this one to catch its wings, almost like frozen in time. But the dragonfly was really patient, flying over one spot for some time.

Crested tit / Czubatka europejska (Lophophanes cristatus)
Shot on 03/10/2025

My first time observing this little bird. Not that common in my parts I guess. It was really loud for its small size. Love the pointy hairdo.
