If you are curious, I recommend trying out Linux Mint, Cosmic OS (BETA), or Kubuntu. They are the most beginner friendly Linux distros out there.

Look up a YouTube tutorial how to install Linux. Go to it with an open mind and curiosity. It's a lot simpler that most might think.

However, I want people to be aware that ALTERNATIVES EXIST that can save you hundreds, possibly thousands of dollars. You don't need to spend that money, you don't need to accept all that tracking, spying and advertising from Microsoft.

I understand it can be an intimidating task to switch to a new OS, and possibly go through learning new programs and workflows.

If you are not ready to make the switch, and cannot let go of programs like Adobe or CSP, that is perfectly fine.

Pretty much all single player games work. Most multiplayer games work.

I'm an artist, graphic designer, and a programmer. I have been on Linux for over a year now. My devices and graphic tablets work perfectly fine.

This is artificial obsolescence from Microsoft.

If you don't rely on Adobe, Affinity, or bigger paid art programs like Clip Studio Paint, you can pretty much do all the same things on Linux as you can on Windows.

In most cases there will be alternatives. Personally I switched from CSP to Krita.

frankly insane that 20-ish years ago some devs in japan said "how do we adapt mystery dungeon for pokemon," someone said "why don't we have the player be a pokemon," and as a direct result i now wear a collar and have about 5 online friends that identify as the mythical pokemon mew
