Dr Harrison brings decades of invaluable experience in global policy, public affairs, and branding. She currently serves at the President and was founding CEO of the @veriangroup.com

Led by Aviva Capital Partners and Socius, the new development will bring one million square feet of brand-new labs and research space to The London Cancer Hub, which is already home to the ICR, The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, and the Innovation Gateway.

@mle-alger.bsky.social in the Clinical Trials and Statistic Unit @icr-ctsu.bsky.social our researchers led an international effort to incorporate patient-reported outcomes into cancer drug trials to identify safe and effective doses of new treatments.

New research introduces the first practical guidance on how patients’ own assessments of how tolerable they find treatments (patient-reported outcomes) can be used more effectively to inform and design early-stage cancer drug trials.

🚨 Talazoparib has been recommended by @nicecomms.bsky.social for the treatment of advanced #ProstateCancer.

The drug now joins olaparib as one of the first genetically targeted treatments for prostate cancer. As a targeted therapy, it is a much kinder option for patients than chemotherapy.

The blood test can tell doctors how likely a patient is to respond to a specific treatment, meaning patients could be offered alternative options, and avoid treatments that won’t help them, boosting their chances of beating the disease.

These levels were strongly associated with patients’ outcomes – including how long it took for a cancer to grow, and how well the cancer was responding to treatment.

ICR researchers, based in the @breastcancernow.bsky.social Toby Robins Research Centre, have shown that their blood test can detect levels of tiny amounts of cancer DNA in the blood – at the start of treatment, and four weeks into the treatment.
