i want to try final fantasy XI or XIV at some point. cool thing about XI is that i could go oldskool and play it on my retro PC for the 2000s MMORPG experience. as for XIV i know some of you play that soooo we could play together one day

oh, to clarify: i'm not saying that old devices are totally obsolete and only useful for experiements. it's that the audience for them is typically more niche due to not supporting newer software/hardware. but there are various ways you can repurpose them! e.g old PC for retro gaming

indeed, even if you dont want or like linux you can still put 10 IoT ent LTSC which is supported till 2032. with vintage tech, newer devices can usually do things better and do more, but they can still be used by retro techies for experiments/nostalgia/etc

seems that people treat devices with reduced usability as e-waste. for example many old phones are seen as e-waste if they can no longer make calls or text, but you could still use them for java games or midi playback

as for like a windows 10 PC with no 11 support, that is NOT e-waste..

it wasnt really "regularly" tbh but I did a bunch of them sporadically esp during 2020, many of them were kinda fillers for events. maybe eventually ill do another one but its really not a priority atm

tbh i still cant see myself rly going back to doing rips for siivagunner. i know a lot of ppl love doing those but i find composing/arranging more creative, recreating can take a lot more work than i have interest/time for and many niche rips fade into obscurity anyways

In Glasgow, there is a 224-year waiting list for gender clinic appointments.

224 YEARS.

This is institutionalised discrimination. It's unacceptable, it's ruining people's lives and it needs to change.

We have the solution. Time for politicians to act.

Gender Clinic Files: Some people in Scotland will never get a gender clinic appointment on a 224-year waitlist.

This system is failing to support people to transition not because it is broken, but by design. The frustrating thing is that this would not be a difficult problem to solve under a different political paradigm.

Trans+ people do not need to be assessed by gender clinics or diagnosed by psychiatrists to tell us what we already know: we are trans. The healthcare we need, especially when it comes to hormones, is already available to cis people through making an appointment with their GP.

Gender clinics are unnecessary and exist to segregate healthcare for Trans+ people. Abolishing this system and providing Trans+ healthcare in primary care, at the GP through an informed consent model, would solve many of the issues this data reveals. GPs already prescribe hormones to cis adults. Trans+ adults simply need the same access to this healthcare.
