Jets are going streaking as they pick up their second straight win and first on the road defeating the Islanders 5-2.

The depth was evident throughout the game as they got contributions from their bottom six forwards.

Eric Comrie excellent in the first period for the Jets as he was ready to go right from puck drop (even if his team was a bit slow out of the gate).

He stops all 12 shots he faced in the opening period of play.

Jets needed Nino Niederrieter to get going and he does giving the visitors a two goal lead.

And Jonathan Toews has his first NHL point since April 13th, 2023.

Jets prospect Edison Engle got an assist on the game-winning goal for Brantford.

He’s up to 1G 9A for 10 points in 6 games.

That’s good enough for 2nd spot in points among defencemen in the OHL.

Didn’t have any points in his first couple of games. Slow start (for him) likely attributable to his concussion suffered during Jets training camp.

While Jets prospect Kieron Walton came out on the losing end of his battle with best friend and fellow Winnipeg prospect Kevin He, he still had himself a game.

Walton finished with 1G 1A and eight shots on net (most for both teams).

Up to 3G 1A for 4 points in 4 games.

Not making excuses as they didn’t play a great game but the Rocket were the best team in the AHL last season and have a very similar team.

Moose and Rocket split a two game set to open the AHL season.

The visitors scored two shorthanded goals, a power play goal and ended it with an empty netter.

Good news for home side: 5-on-5 goals were one aside.

Former Jets/Moose goalie Kaapo Kähkönen with 25-save win.
