What an amazing day! Thanks to everyone who helped to put it together! Below are a few pictures of our beautiful communities, by one of our photographers,

Last Friday, iBBA joined forces with ABC at the Brakke Grond in Amsterdam, for a vibrant day of talks, posters, and cross-disciplinary discussions. We celebrated the latest advances in brain, cognition, and behaviour research and promoted collaborations between scientists working at the VU and UvA.
Great start of the academic year last Thursday, with our first iBBA colloquium! Together with Leda Cosmides we learnt what it means to be rational and how to properly test for it. Great attendance and wonderful talk! Stay tuned for the next colloquium, info to follow soon ;)
Congratulations to all three for their brilliant and inspiring work advancing psychological and behavioural sciences!
We're thrilled to announce the winners of this first edition:
- Dr. Sisi Wang
- Assistant Professor Matthias Nau
- Assistant Professor Giuliana Spadaro
🌟 Exciting news from iBBA! 🌟

This year, we've launched the brand new "iBBA Recognition of Excellence Award", celebrating outstanding contributions to scientific knowledge in the field of Brain and Behavior by early-career researchers within iBBA.

Jelmer Borst and I are looking for a PhD candidate to build an EEG-based model of human working memory! This is a really cool project that I've wanted to kick off for a while, and I can't wait to see it happen. Please share and I'm happy to answer any Qs about the project!

Talks:
• Dr. Sánchez-Fuenzalida: “Predictions, utility & visual illusions in subjective experience”
• Prof. Press: “Learning to perceive & perceiving to learn”
• Dr. van Holst: “Disadvantageous decision-making in gambling disorder”
• Dr. de Gee: “Noradrenaline & prior-belief updating across species”
We learned about measuring subjective experience in vision, using visual tasks to understand disorders like gambling addiction and OCD, the role of learning to predict in vision, and how neuromodulators like noradrenaline shape visual inference.
Huge thanks to everyone from VU & UvA who joined us! And especially to our speakers: Dr. Nicolás Sánchez-Fuenzalida, Prof. Clare Press, Dr. Ruth van Holst, Dr. Jan Willem de Gee. And of course, our presenter Dr Lola Beerendonk.
We just wrapped up an amazing workshop: "Vision as Prediction: Learning, Action & Biases", organized by Dr. Nicolás Sánchez-Fuenzalida & funded by iBBA.
