In Canada it was a No Tyrants protest because many of us quite like our king. And frankly if Trump acted a lot more like Charles things wouldn't be nearly as bad.

I'm looking for a dataset of non-stolen videos of good quality taken in many different contexts, with a license that allows academic use.
Something like the MIT Moments In Time dataset but... ethical. No annotations needed.
Any leads?

Imagine you had to purchase a MacBook to use an iPhone. This is how I feel about being required to own an iPhone if I want to use an Apple watch. Infuriating walled garden BS.

Let it not be said that a stopped clock is not right twice day. I support renaming the DoD to the DoW.

Anyone here involved in pixel art video games? Nano-banana & Veo3 are now good enough to create and animate assets (with a little glue code). We've crossed a bright line and I kinda want to talk to someone about it.

If your state hasn't done this yet, call your governor's office as well as top public health official in your state, and request that they do this. If enough people start calling, they will hear us loud and clear!
New Mexico has issued a public health order that removes federal restrictions to COVID-19 vaccine access so that pharmacies in New Mexico can vaccinate people of all ages and risk profiles. Every state need to do this!

This is not *at all* what I intended to generate with Veo3, but it's actually pretty cute and satisfying to watch, so here you go!

@maggieastor.bsky.social Unconscionably weak writing on the CVS crisis. People will die or be crippled because of an anti-science faction taking over the CDC. Say this! Point out each and every time that this is a concerted attack on science and good medicine!

@riggaroo.dev Holy crap Google is making a mistake trying to get developers to register to develop apps to sideload. Please send as many internal emails as you can expressing how awful an idea this is. I don't ask permission to put code anyone can run on Github, Google doesn't get to make me ask it!

@tornorbye.bsky.social Hi! Please tell your boss, coworkers, anyone who will listen how much we hate the idea of registering to develop apps to sideload. These are *our* devices. We hate this idea SO much. And telling us it's for "security?" Tell them to GFYS!

@sanbeiji.com Hi! Please tell your bosses how much we hate the idea of registering to sideload. We hate it a lot! Bucketfuls of hate! It's a truly awful policy. And cloaking it in a transparent veil of "security." We hate that even more! Seriously, WTF?

Newsom is so deeply fake and unappealing as an individual *of course* the Democrats will run him in 2028. He's a tall haircut and that's about it.

Prior to "The princess and the pea" there was "The Sybarite, whose night's rest was disturbed by a doubled rose leaf."

Equally lovely and absurd but far less succinct.

"[T]he justices making up the current Supreme Court majority have shown hostility toward sound legal reasoning"

Now *that* is solid rhetoric. Appropriately insulting, accurate, and implying that the court will change.
