Wild guess, spam the field with paper candidates so that the normies who didn't really follow these things will be confused about who to vote for, split the normie vote, increase the chances of the Restore Trust types winning.
"Accessed state support"? So anyone who has seen their GP, anyone who sends their children to school, or anyone who has the temerity to retire and claim their state pension then?
His target market is basically ageing football hooligans who are now EDL types, so "nothing wrong with a bit of argey bargey on the terraces" does make a certain amount of sense from a marketing perspective.
Apparently they can contain fragrances and glues of animal origin (I had to look it up as well). Though slapping the word "vegan" on random things can also just be a good way to sell then for twice the normal price
Cameron is too high. Led his party so well he had to call an unnecessary referendum to appease the headbangers, and ended up taking us out of the EU by mistake. A massive failure, even on his own terms.
Basically the most likely outcome of the collapse of the Tory party is the conservative/right coalescing around Farage while the liberal/left remains fragmented. Not Ed Davey displacing both Farage and Badenoch to become a Major/Cameron-like PM in waiting, comforting(ish) a thought as that might be.
A significant part of that was due to Tory voters going to Reform or staying home, and tactical voting by Labour types. Plus Tory voters who want low taxes and high house prices but were disgusted by Brexit and Rwanda are now a depleted well. Not many Rory Stewarts left for the Lib Dems to pick up.
If the Lib Dems are in a position to replace the Tory party and scoop up the voters that they are losing, there is little evidence of it in the polls so far. And given where their activist and current voter base is, I don't think a center right niche is actually an easy one for them to move into.
