Minneapolis. Comics. Cats. Action Figures. Weird bad movies. Weird good movies. Wrestling maybe? I dunno.

Yeah, they were loooong desired by fans. Not sure if it was a rights concern since they originated in the Marvel book or what, but it does seem to track that once Hasbro started reprinting comics they also finally did the comic version of the Guard.
Glad I looked up the recruiting company before finalizing a meeting with them. Sucks to have to be so cautious, but there’s enough ick out there about them (amongst people who had great experiences too) that I don’t know that I wanna go down that road yet.
and the story appeared in issues 6 and 7 of the original run. I love this sort of "how the sausage is made" stuff, and I've slotted the Patrol into my Joeverse as precursors to the Guard. More info on the Patrol here www.treasuresntoys.com/webcampoktob... and here www.oafe.net/articulation... 3/3

Almost certainly due to the fact that the rights to story and art for Bizarre Adventures work was retained by the creators (Tom DeFalco and Herb Trimpe here) and Joe was *already* a licensed book Marvel and Hasbro rejected the original # 3. The Patrol was reworked into the Oktober Guard 2/3

As is my wont, going weird again with the Pravda Patrol. Did these figures for a Joecustoms Group Project. For those not in the know, The Pravda Patrol were originally going to appear in GI Joe #3 having shown up in an 8 pager in Bizarre Adventures prior. 1/3
Tiger Claw is such a fun figure. He’s been on my list for a long time to do.
Hey kids, go vote today! Do some research, find out who's gonna help move your city, your county, your state in the direction you want. The "small" shit's important. And today's "small" candidate may be the next big one.

And if you're in Minneapolis, make sure and tell Frey to pound sand!
I think Footloose’s upper body could work, I’ll have to see what legs might do the job. Probably one of the O13 . . . And then there’s the head
#JoeVember2025 day 3, Favorite Joe

This is a tough one, but I think I’m gonna go for Lightfoot. His first appearance in Special Missons 13 really established him as a dedicated member of the team, and his second (and pretty much last) in 82, having to go through training again, stuck with me.
Christ I’m internet poisoned, because even with the full version of the abbreviation appearing twice prior, I absolutely didn’t take JO Day as they intended.
He ain’t wrong. And after a rough morning, it was nice to go out into the yard and just tune out and do some fall yard clean up.
It is a gorgeous, sunny fall day out and I appreciate that. Whoever made this happen - thanks.

Minneapolis! Excellent thread on the election for mayor tomorrow. In short: DON’T rank Frey, a liar and coward who just serves money.

DO rank Davis, Fateh and Hampton in whatever order you choose. This great city deserves better!
I’m asking everyone to vote for a new Mayor by Tuesday and rank all 3 of Omar Fateh, Dewayne Davis, and Jazz Hampton in whichever order you prefer. I’ve worked at City Hall for the last 4 years and from my personal experiences I believe the City desperately needs a new mayor.

Long thread 🧵
Oh damn. Got it all sorted, or still fighting thru?
I’ll try and at least mock something up this week if I can . . .
Oh, I have plans for both of them, and parts picked out for Mike at least.

I'm just trying to have a nice day despite knowing facts and information.
I like the pics. I don’t need em. If you’re getting something out of it, whatever it is, that’s great, but dont let it own you.
See, as a Midwestern kid born in ‘82, none of those came into my view till much later. But yeah, Miami Vice was absolutely how anyone at Hasbro likely learned of it, especially given that the figure hit a logical number of years after the fad had faded.
#JoeVember2025 Day 2, Troop Builder! I only got into Joe in ‘92 so finding old stock at KayBee was great. The Frag Viper grabbed me hard, and while I understood the idea of the gear, I didn’t actually learn what Jai Alai was for years. Now enjoy this brainworm for days.

I played 1 and 2 through, touched 3, finished Code Veronica and 5, and haven’t played anything since. I guess I’m fine with that.
I'm trying to resist the urge to customize them, because dang does that set need an update. I wouldn't mind a new torso or overlay to give them that baggier look, but even just straight up reuse of the Sunspot build would be fine.
However many decades later Dave ran a couple more of these model forms and gave them away as prizes for answering trivia questions at his panel, and now I have this really cool piece I really ought to frame . . .

Thanks for reading!
So, standing there, he took his shot. Low cost? . . . Locust! This is the GI Joe Locust, just imagine a huge swarm of these coming over the horizon! They loved it, changed up the General to include one. Dave’s design was getting made! 4/
