What if we took characters we made when we were young teens and made them relevant in the project that has taken over our lives here in 2025?

This character has been waiting 22 YEARS for his story to be told. This is such old art, but drawing him again felt a little bit like healing and growing.

A very sketchy bust of Dallas, a cranky-looking guy who is glaring off to the side. There are a lot of scribbles depicting some armor and dark sleeves, and he seems very unhappy in general.

A half-boy of the same character, Dallas -- though there is a clear jump in skill for the art. His armor and sleeves are more defined, as he is actually colored with flats in his drawing that allows his very bright blond has to draw a lot of attention. Dallas is still glaring to the side, his mouth turned down -- but he has facial hair and a big scar under his eye that spreads over his nose and even above his brow.

Art of Cian Frostrane, an OC -- as well as a man I have not named yet, but who has earned the title "Father Daddy" as a running joke due to his priestly attire and rugged looks.

Cian is in the front, eyes wide and zoned out as he stares at nothing with noticeably shining white eyes. There is a white halo around his neck and his hand is limply held up in front of him as if slowly dropping. His expression is entirely blank, which is a huge contrast from his usual grins and smirks.

Behind him is an older man with his hand outstretched, fingers open and visible around Cian's head as if he is about to grab him up. He looks much more serious, even ominous ... and the whole thing gives an impression that Cian is in a trance or under his control.

Behind them both is a shattered stained glass window.

Extremely disrespectful. I am so sorry that it happened to you. I am someone who also experiences The Hyperfixations, but I do not make EVERYTHING about it. It's something you have to work on and be conscious of actively... and a lot of people do not want to think about how their actions can hurt.

A large painting with many pinks and reds being the focus. The moon above Orion, an OC, is red/pink which is causing the clouds and two visible trees to be highlighted with their colors.

Orion is on the ground in a graveyard with overgrown grass and autumn leaves everywhere, the headstones too old to read. He is holding a baby lamb with bloody bandages around its eyes and he is crying with his kitty ears flat down on his head.

The piece looks extremely sad, like a small moment at the end of the world.

You guys don't need to come up with excuses and stuff for this, by the way. You can admit that this is something you do, learn from it, and try and start changing your behavior. This is a social skill you may have to practice but it will make your interactions with artists mean so much more!! Try!!

It does cost $0 to not compare someone's work to some mainstream media that you like. If you are commenting on someone's art and talking more about something else ENTIRELY, you are likely frustrating that artist a LOT.

Stop doing it. Right now.

I don't think that training in art history, theory, and art critique is necessary to know that comparing someone's work to anything else is ... a bit rude. I think that not talking about another topic entirely when someone is showing you something is like ... KIDS can learn and understand that.

Like WHAT about blorbo do you like that you see in this character and please for the love of god have it be something other than palettes or like one thing about hair or an outfit. Use the noodle. Look within yourself as someone absorbing creativity. You can do it!!! It's not scary!!! Make friends!!

The thing is, like. I understand. I understand that, especially neurodivergent people -- it's an attempt at connecting via something familiar and safe. But it's also so insulting to the person that its happening to and I wish there were ways around it I wish people gave it a bit more time?

I have had Dime's palette set for over 5 years. Like. Red and black are wonderful together its everywhere it is not only Alastor's palette and I could bite through a phonebook in this moment.

You would think, yes. But I often get comments about Dime, especially because he has ... super sharp teethies. I think it almost makes me see actual red because, like. There ARE series that I have loved that have influenced my style??? Maybe Soul Eater?? MORE THAN HAZBIN EVER COULD??? I feel insane.

I think watching people disrespect art more and more as time goes on is causing me to have a slight werewolf transformation, but my full moon is a comment section and the sky is every piece of art I make. There will inevitably be those full moons and they are rough but ... man.
