Ísafjörður is a town in the north west of Iceland. It was on this stretch of water that the Ross Cleveland was lost on the night of 4 February 1968 and the small house (pictured) is still there today and it’s said to where Harry Eddom took shelter.

The Ross Cleveland sailed from #Hull on 20 January 1968 under the command of skipper Phil Gay. 58 years ago tonight she was fishing off Isafjordur, Iceland during the worst storm in living memory and was tragically lost. 18 men died and one survived. #TripleTrawlerDisaster

58 years ago Lillian Bilocca tried to jump aboard the ST Keverne, leaving St Andrews Dock without a radio operator. If Lil had jumped, she would have killed herself. It was very dangerous and headstrong and showed her devotion to safety of the trawlermen. #HeadscarfRevolutionaries
