Watched The Monolith Monsters (1957) yesterday and it blew me away. Alien invasion / giant monster movie where the "monsters" are inanimate rocks from a meteor. Everytime they get wet, they grow into towering monoliths, fall over and shatter, and then the cycle repeats, multiplying. Ingenious.

Christ alive, if Takashi Ito had ever made a full length horror he would’ve killed some body. Thunder (1982) and Ghost (1984) are absolutely nightmarish.

57. Foes (Coats, 1977) - Hazy coastal moodpiece about a UFO menacing a trio of people, a triumph of low-budget vibe/abstraction (KILLER visuals). Skip the longer 90 minute cut that chops up the non-linear flashback structure and adds distributor-mandated interstitials of the military milling around.
