Employing a combination of difference-in-differences and a movers’ design, the research analyzes the academic outcomes between cohorts born in municipalities before and after a significant reduction in pollution exposure, compared to those from areas with minimal initial exposure.
This study capitalizes on the sharp decline in acid rain in Norway following the Convention on Long-Range Transboundary Air Pollution, utilizing rich administrative data.

Our paper on the spillover effects of spousal cancer on labor supply and mental health outcomes is out in the Journal of Population Economics: lnkd.in/dHfWvw_8. Using Finnish population-based register data, we uncover key heterogeneities based on relative income status within the household.
