Hots&Cots made it to Congress! I had the incredible honor of traveling to DC for an event hosted by Better Homes 4 Heroes, where I spoke alongside members of the Quality of Life Panel. In my remarks I shared how H&C is improving barracks living conditions and the quality of life for service members.

Fort Stewart, Georgia:
💰 Money collected from soldiers: $17 million
🥫 Money spent on food: $2.1 million

So where did the rest go? Because this soldier—stuck with stale bread, broken drink machines, and a DFAC rated D—sure isn’t seeing it.

Y'all wanna see some bugs in a soldiers meal. You can change the name back to Fort Bragg but doesn't change the meal quality.

Hots&Cots has always been multi-branch, because service members across the military deserve transparency in housing and dining. Whether you’re stationed on a US Navy ship, at a USMC chow hall, or grabbing a meal in an US Army DFAC, your experiences matter.

Proof that leaders pay attention: Within 15 minutes of a review about soldiers without heat, leadership was already engaging with the right teams to fix the issue—even before I reached out. Your voice on Hots&Cots makes a difference.

Did you know the DoD Housing Manual doesn’t regulate door locks in barracks? No minimum standard. No uniform requirements. And as far as I’m aware, no service branch has its own regulations either.

I've spoken about this stigma a bit where soldiers don't want to report issues and wish to remain anonymous. Soldiers third day of their new duty station and the assigned room doors do not lock and the soldier was told they needed to verbally agree that if anything was stolen they were at fault.
