I may have to just be happy with sparking cables (I used a paperclip to short out the wires for the eGPU atx power supply to fake it out and power up without an attached motherboard)

So now we have an optiplex 390, upgraded to an i7-2600k, and a frankensteined 1080 hung off a PSU in a fried eGPU chassis, connected via a pcie x16 extender
Heaven DX11 benchmark screamed through with a score of 5000, which beats out newer i7s with 1080 cards or rx480 cards...
