What do I do with my hands

Where do they go
Well the lasers that are output from these are nothing special. There's no nuclear in the beam itself.
Guess what's still in the video?
We're back with the goofy-ass almost clickbait future weapon tech for this weeks Spacedock video! This time its nuclear lasers, with thanks to @toughsf.bsky.social for his blog post on the topic (linked in the following message).

90s-2000s era retro sounds like something @millenia3d.net may be able to help with
Spacecraft docking is seen pretty frequently in sci-fi but its kinda treated as this easy to do thing. In reality its actually pretty complicated and interesting, watch this weeks video to see how!

I'm now completely happy with the effect, all the bugs, errors and jumpiness are gone! I'm 100% on this, no weirdness, no oddness, everything works from all the angles I'd ever want. All done in camera!
It had more set ups than payoffs, very unsatisfying. Overall the show was good but after the Maginot flashback it just sort of meandered.
Time for another Spacedock video inspired by Helldivers 2, this time it was the mechs that got me thinking about the incredibly specific niche that is infantry support vehicles.

And hopefully answering them too lol
X-wings are one of the most famous designs in sci-fi, partly due to their cool splitting wings. But why do they do that? That is what this weeks Spacedock video examines.

This weeks Spacedock video is about the way design language can be used to define a setting, or at least to place something within it. But its not perfect because like so many other things, it depends!

I dunno about that, just smart as hell and out for herself
God I love the adorable little monsters in Alien: Earth. They're so delightfully disgusting.
That's what the water is for!
Girl drink some water
Well it is a lot less active!
For this weeks Spacedock video I went and watched Knights of Sidonia and enjoyed it! Yeah its a bit shallow and has some very annoying anime bullshit, but the visuals and great action more than made up for that. Watch the video for more:

I'm consistently impressed by the way Alien: Earth both does its own thing but also builds upon the rest of the franchise. It's fascinating.
Honestly, same. That was WB same as Barbie and Superman. BUT with Dune they used the sandscreens to control light, they could still extract a matte by fiddling with colour channels. Interestingly this article also mentions bluescreens being desaturated to grey!

Yes, ‘Dune’ used sandscreens, but it also used grayscreens, and even bluescreens - befores & afters
Visual effects supervisor Paul Lambert discusses more about that side of the filmmaking.
