Absolutely agree.
There are auto-immune complications that do not show up in inflammatory markers but are diagnosed by their responses to strong steriods. If we don't agree to take/test that way, we remain "psycho somatic" undiagnosed.

My family live in Goldstein - the mark-up capital of Victoria.
Here, they will bulk-bill whenever they can.
My GP will say, we can scan/mri/test but it might not tell us anything and it will cost say $400 and in any case knee interventions are notoriously unsuccessful so.....

Rural, in my experience only, tend to stick pretty much to the assigned $$ - given all the other personal, travel, time costs out here to get any medical services.

Understood.
Mine is usually shoulders and hips but the past few days it has been knees, shins, ankles and tops of feet - unable to walk without a penguin shuffle, nor sleep and Osteo Panadol is not touching it! Unusual for me.

The barometric pressure has been fluctuating wildly in this part of Vic and my "rheumatic" pain is off the chart - similarly - not my usual worn spots.

Personal Observation only. I know some wonderful South Africans who went back to help rebuild social cohesion at the fall of Apartheid.
Interestingly or coincidentally (idk, sample size too small), they were not white.
