Three cheers for MIT. When the White House tried to buy obedience with funding strings...MIT said, “Hell No!” Merit over mandates. Freedom over control. Finally...an institution with the guts to tell power where to shove its politics.
So sad to learn of her death. She was incredible. RIP Jane Goodall.
Of all the best and kindest humans to ever live, Jane Goodall is near the top of my list.

Rest in Peace, you beautiful soul.

On behalf of the earth, I thank you

How can he get everything so wrong?
Sadly I grow accustomed to their constant lies.
Every day it becomes more obvious that they do not want anyone who is sick or who needs assistance to stick around.
We didn't manage to do much when we had more Democrats in Congress either. The NRA has too much power.
That was definitely a choice that I will never understand.
With all of the signs around us daily, it is shocking to think that some people are cheering every decision and action that leads us closer to our fall. I guess when something they care about fails, they will realize what they voted for.
half-remembering that thing about how most Roman citizens experienced the fall of Rome as simply one day their local bridge went out and nobody came around to repair it
That escalator wasn't having it.
An escalator malfunction that required President Trump to walk up one flight of steps at the United Nations had false claims swirling on social media that it was a deliberate act of sabotage by UN staff. nyti.ms/3IDjidS
Watched this maybe 4 months ago and yep, it is timely.
At what point do you think that the average German realized they were fu*ked during the rise of the Third Reich?
America is on a dangerous path. Opposing points of view are not tolerated. Journalists are being mandated not to report facts. Vaccines are being withheld. Science defunded. #resist
I won't argue that. They are all about what benefits them.
Yep, they have no problem shutting that down, but the 2nd amendment is untouchable. 🙄
How does anyone fail to see this?

I worked with the reporters at @unraveledpress.com and the Chicago Reader's @mulchy.bsky.social yesterday to cover a brutal day of ICE activity in the Chicago suburbs. By day's end, immigration agents had killed a man and, only a few miles away, subjected protestors to tear gas and pepper balls.
New, w/ @mulchy.bsky.social & @djbyrnes1.bsky.social:

ICE shot & killed an immigrant in the Chicago suburbs yesterday.

Then they immediately gave a misleading account of events.

Chicago erupted in chaos and a father who lived here for decades is dead. This is what really happened:
What happened to Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez
Immigration agents shot and killed an unarmed 38-year-old father outside Chicago on Friday—and their initial narrative of events was quickly disproven by videos captured by witnesses.
