While completely ignoring the fact that if China simply says "we are no longer buying US Treasuries" there will be a smoking hole where the US economy once was. All while the party of fiscal conservatism adds $trillions more to our debt.

Before the election my brother-in-law (a very successful businessman, Trumper and hard core Christian) said that Trump did not have anything to do with P2025. Willfully ignorant. I am now polite to my BiL in family situations but otherwise do my best to avoid him.

I read recently that Walmart and McDonald's employees are among the top recipients of SNAP benefits. This is an indirect subsidy to these companies. More of the "privatize the profits, socialize the costs" mentality that currently passes for conservatism.

56% of US adults have a reading comprehension below 6th grade. 21% are functionally illiterate. Critical thinking skills go hand-in-hand with literacy. Lack of critical thinking skills make it easy to manipulate people with fear-based propaganda (they're eating cats and dogs!!!). That's why, IMO.
