Hesitantly flirting with the word "recovered" this morning. Whatever this was had me down for a month and I am ready to rejoin the world.

It's 5 in the morning, I'm logging into work, and hitting play on my next book.

Feel like I'm late to the party with this one, but I'm okay with that.

I've read several of these authors! You've great taste.
What is your usual interest when it comes to historical fiction?
Do you think it comparable to other mythological retellings?
Have been down with a respiratory infection for three weeks! Haven't read much of anything due to the symptoms, but I'm finally coming out of it.

Currently reading Stone Blind and would love to hear thoughts if anyone has read it.

Tudors - Anything by Janet Wertman is worth looking into, Margaret George has a great one on Henry VIII. Tony Riches is also worth checking out.

Mongols - Stephanie Thornton's The Tiger Queens

First Nations - I like James Welch and Louise Erdrich
Anglo Saxon - Patricia Bracewell's Emma of Normandy Trilogy

Roman - A Day of Fire (several authors, about Pompeii), anything by Kate Quinn, Ben Kane, Conn Iggulden, and Simon Turney. A Year of Ravens (multiple authors, centers on Boudica)
It adds 10 more books to my TBR as well. Imagine that.
I live for the passages that burn my soul! 📚❤️
Of course! I love talking books.

Are you reading Weir now? If so, which of her books?
Hard to say.

The book is the first of three and doesn't get into her reign, but I think it evidences Wertman as an author who takes the history seriously.

The book establishes Elizabeth's desire to survive and leaves the door open to explore both the strengths and weaknesses of its headliner.
Welcome to the latest installment of Bought It & Forgot It (aka Read What You Own).

Book 7 was picked from the unread stacks of my library by my son because "hysteria is a fun word."
