Burning the first stick of my Samhain blend. One of the things I love about incense made like this is how the scent changes and develops. This one, I'm catching a lot of dragon's blood and copal right away with the others showing up after.

The sticks for this Samhsin batch are drying in the box. Her is hoping they burn well. If everything turns out good I should have them in the shop very soon! <3 Getting things done by the skin of my teeth, I guess.

Its been a while, but here is the first draft of my blend for Samhain! There is a lot going into it. Things aligned to spirit work, the ancestors, divination, and protection as we reach across the veil.

Random thought: Of course, you're the one moving the pendulum through micro movements of your hand... but what's moving you? When we communicate with spirit (big or little s) we commune with them. As such, is it not within the possibility that they are moving our hand?

I do love how much of the Mythos was developed by other authors who took the base idea and ran with it. I wish this would happen more often, but people cling to ideas as is there was anything new under the sun.

I got the the email from the state! Its official! The Hermetic Apothecary is approved and we're one step closer to being able to get into local shows and markets. Just need to get insurance figured out and I'll be all done on this front!

Got to love those days where just everything is too damn much. Evwn the sound of someone chewing or dropping a can into the garbage makes me want to scream. Why must my nervous system be this way. I'd really love to be able to just relax.

This is so so so important. Even if you follow traditional paths ask yourself why things are done a certain way. Take nothing for granted. Never settle for "Its just how it is." No. Learn about the ins and outs and if you decide to bend or break the rules you know why and how.

Its wild to me living in an area that has ravens. Waking up to the sound of croaks every now and then. It feels special and kind of magical. I'm going to start leaving peanuts out for them and the crows again.

I'd think you should be able to cleanse and reprogram it. Might want to try talking to it (and in so doing connect more with its spirit) That should help null any bad vibes its got attached.

Time to make a Samhain oil! After this blend is done infusing, I'll mix it with my essential oil blend that I have sitting aside. This blend is meant for opening the ways between worlds while also staying protected and grounded.
