Often the system limits the choices we have, and, as basic moral teaching tell us, if we have no choice in what we do, if we have no agency, we have no little to no culpability: www.patheos.com/blogs/henryk... #Catholic #PowersThatBe
The Powers That Be Often Do Not Give Us A Choice
The powers that be, the structures of society, often try to have us blame the victims of oppression instead of society as a whole.

Why do many Christians, who are supposed to be interested in the truth, accept and promote politicians who engage the worst kinds of lies? www.patheos.com/blogs/henryk... #Catholic #Lies
Why Do Many Christians Show Indifference To Political Lies?
While lying is an intrinsic evil, not all lies are of equal gravity; we must deal with the most grave ones first.

Celebrating St. Andrew: His Life, Death, And Eternal Hope
The Apostle Andrew was first a disciple of John the Baptist, but when he was shown Christ, became one of Christ's earliest disciples.

I've been talking about this for ages

There are different tiers of indie

If we really say "support indie games" the solo dev must have as much of a chance of winning

Otherwise we're just saying "support indie games with deep pockets"

And that's a problem

#gamedev
This. Seeing some of Canada's best indies have to go up against (and lose to) Dragon Age in many categories at the last Canadian Game Awards was crushing.

Yes, Dragon Age was also made by Canadians, but it was made by hundreds if not thousands of people unlike say Balatro, Venba, or Lil' Guardsman.
To heal our divided nation I propose splitting Game of the Year awards into two categories:

- Game of the Year That’s 3D and You Use a Sword and/or Gun to Explode a Guy
- Game of the Year That’s Some Gay Bullshit Indie Meditation on Grief or Whatever

I myself need to remember this, as I often get caught in the middle of “debate” online; the reality is Christians should not be seeking debates, but dialogue: www.patheos.com/blogs/henryk... #Catholic #Christian #Dialogue
The Need For Dialogue Over Debate
I do not like apologetical debates because they rarely tend to help anyone involved in them come to a better understanding of the truth.

The Prophetic Warning Of Tolkien's Bovadium Fragments
Tolkien's Bovadium Fragments can be seen as a prophetic warning of what can happen if we do not take care of the environment.

It's funny and sad. All those people who told soldiers not to take COVID vaccines (even though the order was legal) are now saying those in Congress telling soldiers not to obey illegal orders interfered with Trump's authority, so are seditious and deserve to die.

The only reason why Trump, the GOP, and FOX are upset with anyone reminding soldiers that they are to disobey illegal orders, and that is the law, is because they plan to have illegal orders

When we speak of the faith, we must always remember that there is more to the faith than we can ever comprehend. That is, we must preserve the greater mystery of the faith, lest the faith becomes banal and, through such banality, we find ourselves losing faith: www.patheos.com/blogs/henryk...
Preserving The Mystery While Proclaiming The Faith
The mystery of faith is important, because it makes sure the faith is filled with wonder, the kind which attracts us and gives us joy.
