Day 19 of Vampire October! Today I’m yapping about the Brides of Dracula.

So in their title of Brides of Dracula was given to them after Stoker published. They weren’t ever really called that in the book. Since then they’ve taken on a lot of interpretations and pictured below is the Van Helsing ->

Everything about her and the castle is just so gothic novel vampire coded. From soft basically lifted Dracula and married the themes perfectly into an otherwise Lovecraftian game. Cainhurst armor and weapons are so, so, so much fun.

Day 18 Vampire October! Queen Annalise from Bloodborne

Another example where vampire is never said but the character definitely is a vampire. I always join her coven in Bloodborne, and Castle Cainhurst is the best level (yes, I’m biased).

Because it’s canon that becoming a vampire in this world only affects your moral compass, and being smart isn’t really tied into that. But she’s still great. I hope that if she would have lived in her reality that she would have realized she could do better than V Xander and dumped his ass.

Vampire October 17! Vampire Willow

This is an alternate reality version of Willow Rosenberg who was turned into a vampire. We get two episodes in season 3 with her and she so fucking iconic. For some reason they make her slightly dumber than human Willow, which I don’t necessarily get. ->

Vampire October Day 16! Sheriff Hartwell from The X-Files episode Bad Blood!

This episode focuses more on he vastly different retellings of a case by Mulder and Scully. Our two bisexual FBI agents both describe Hartwell in vastly different ways. It’s a fun episode in the series that I like a lot.

Day 14 of Vampire October! Nosferatu!

Nosferatu has some of my favorite film and intellectual property rights history. All the copies were supposed to be destroyed after Stokers wife sued and won her case, but a few survived leaving us with the legacy that is Nosferatu.

And she also girl bosses constantly. She even gets a redemption of sorts in Angel! The master is a great first villain, he’s big and theatric but also so campy and goofy. His crash out over Darla is one of my favorites.

I never understood why he and Buffy were supposed to be endgame when season 2 of Buffy kind of just showed why they shouldn’t be. I think he was an interesting first love for her but not much beyond that.

His journey is interesting, and I love the premise for his own show. But Spike Supremacy
