Vigil is a tiefling with purple skin, antelope-esque horns, a barbed tail, and cloven hooves.

She stands with one hand pointing into the light. Her other hand is shrouded in shadow, illuminated only by a glowing, icy blue ring.

She looks furious. Her silver eyes are wide and her black hair-streaked with a prominent chuck of blond-is escaping its braid. Blood drips down her nose and is sprayed across her cheek.

They wear simple black robes, also stained with blood, a particularly nasty looking wound on their left shoulder. Her black armor covers her neck, chest, and upper legs.

I’m a part time librarian and I just want to echo what I’ve seen other librarians say recently: there is a HUGE uptick in requests for social justice, climate justice, abolition, history, etc books and I just want to say nobody is giving up the fight. If anything people are fighting harder #library

If we want to get serious about addressing declining literacy rates in the US, we gotta stop shaming people for what and how they read. Speaking as someone who has personally struggled, shame is a sure fire way to kill any enthusiasm and curiosity toward reading, which kills any ambition to learn.
