A celebration of the eleventh month. Some people and businesses bring out holiday decor (like the red plaid pillows at our local bakery cafe and an apfel kuchen with almond milk latte). It's chilly, dreary and joyful all at the same time. Novembre. Might try and make some version of those bookmarks❄️

Channeling my inner Ms.Rachel with a knotted headband. Adore the dress and really hope people continue to exemplify empathy as an important feature of the news cycle 🫶🏻✨💚🕊️

So here for this. 🌏🌍🌎 Recently got my son addicted to Daft Punk's song "Around the World" (circa 1997) and it allows me to simultaneously groove to a '90s dance song and also celebrate some good things that arise from the inter-web💙🧚🏻‍♀️🥳 while driving to wherever...
As someone who freelances and writes books in isolation, social media has been a gift, connecting me with other writers and journalists, as well as academics and editors. It's led to commissions, collaborations, TV appearances, and lectures all over the country—and to several real-life friendships.
Has anything great happened in your life because of social media?

Didn't realize that I need more youth sized orange shirts. Will be gathering some for next year's orange shirt day and also because as the story implies, Orange is a great colour 🧡 Emma Goldman comes to mind with that image if NG and the science of dance !

She won Emmy nominations for her sitcom role as a deceptively smart radio station receptionist. Her divorce from Burt Reynolds landed her in the tabloids.

📝 of love and beauty in my last week: May the 4th celebrated in Heathrow Airport & at upper Sackville united church, a superb podcast, even though I rarely dig premade store bought soups, this brand really made my soul happy aaaah (apparently using imperfect produce and other goodly Ambitions).

On Monday, as an ally I recognized red dress day by telling others and wearing red.

“The violence faced by Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit people is not new — and it’s not over.

We need more than words. We need justice, safety…”

I looked that day for meaningful posts, today this found me❤️
Today is Red Dress Day.

As an Indigenous woman, this day is deeply personal. We carry the stories of our sisters, our aunties, our daughters — too many taken, too many still missing.

Red Dress Day is a day of remembrance. But it must also be a call to action.

I was part of a study group on non-violent communication at a yoga studio locally about 11 years ago. It was a brief time of community and we all read the book from different viewpoints. I refer back to the principles often and really think the whole book and many other resources on nvc are worthy❤️

Yes! Feeling the waves 🌊 of terror, in fact.
As a Canadian I have to say it’s kinda surreal to log onto Bluesky and regularly be greeted by a wall of horrifying new updates from American users about their country’s descent into fascism

Free writing advice:
There's no law that says you must write from start to finish. If you get hung up on the beginning, move to the middle or even the end. Refuse to get stuck. If you need an adjective but can't find the right one, type "XXX" and come back and fill it in later. Don’t lose momentum.
