Good news for the England men. If they get whumped again tomorrow the first tee of the golf course next to the Rose Bowl is about a ten minute walk from the dressing room. 👍

Playing cricket is an inconvenience for many pro cricketers these days.

Unless its some awful franchise league.

A Saturday afternoon in Ikea, only made bearable by introducing my 15-year-old to Ikea cricket. You score a run every time you locate an item you want, but lose a wicket every time you see a family arguing. A respectable 18 for 3 today.

It's too small for the modern professional game to be honest, particularly when considering how far players hit the ball.

The T in T20 now stands for Tardy.

The opening game of CPL took 3 hours for 32.1 overs of cricket with no weather interruptions.

Test matches move faster than that.

Think I'm coming down with a fever. Likely to manifest itself on Thursday morning at about 11am! 🤒

Please no. The matches were dull enough as it was without adding an extra day.

Love a bit of evening cricket. Great for de-stressing, especially when the sun shines. I watch a few games each season. This pic is from a few weeks back at East Tytherley in Hampshire.

If using the Kookaburra in county cricket is important Ashes practice for bowlers why are England picking a Test squad of 16 and allowing an excess number of pace bowlers to sit around at the Test in the interest of team spirit? Unwatchable & an arrogant destruction of England’s professional circuit

I actually like the WTC - I 100% get the criticism of the format, but people have short memories & seem to forget what came before. It's a start to fix & grow; It's better than teams unilaterally declaring themselves champions after a couple of undefeated series.

I always enjoy seeing a cricket ground with a fully grown tree within the boundary ropes - the game just fitting around the landscape (and providing a few fielding challenges!). Here's a fine example from the ground I visited today at Sulhamstead & Ufton CC.

A view of the pavilion at Sulhamstead & Ufton Cricket Club. In front of the pavilion there is a large, mature tree growing with the field of play.
