A group of 60 people joined Eric Muller, Judge Kelly Higashi and Gerald Yamada for a tour of the National Japanese American Memorial to Patriotism in Washington Saturday to learn about the legal history of World War II incarceration.

Thanks to the Mellon Foundation, we were able to build the Mineta-Simpson Institute, which is dedicated to amplifying the examples set by Norman Mineta and Alan Simpson in public service. They first met behind the barbed wire at Heart Mountain.
