The weekly U.S. COVID update will not be published today due to data disruptions caused by the government shutdown. Updates will resume as soon as possible.
So far this year, more than 4.4 million COVID cases have been reported in the U.S., causing 311,077 hospitalizations and 19,153 deaths.
COVID cases remain elevated across the U.S. but have peaked in most states, with only few exceptions, like Arizona. Hospitalizations are elevated in adults 65+.
Weekly U.S. COVID update:

- New cases: 135,600 est.
- Admissions: 9,492 (-6%)
- In hospital: 7,943 (-2%)
- In ICU: 1,070 (+1%)
- New deaths: 436
- Average: 392 (+10%)
So far this year, more than 4.3 million COVID cases have been reported in the U.S., causing 301,585 hospitalizations and 18,717 deaths.
COVID cases remain elevated across the U.S. but appear to have peaked in most states. Emergency department visits are highest in young children and adults 65+.

- Admissions: 10,163 (-7%)
- In hospital: 8,121 (+3%)
- In ICU: 1,060 (+2%)
- New deaths: 444
- Average: 357 (+16%)
So far this year, more than 4 million COVID cases have been reported in the U.S., causing 280,467 hospitalizations and 17,861 deaths.

So far this year, more than 3.8 million COVID cases have been reported in the U.S., causing 270,363 hospitalizations and 17,584 deaths.
COVID cases are up for the 8th week in a row, reaching the highest level since mid-March. Emergency department visits are up among all age groups.

- Average: 249 (+11%)
So far this year, more than 3.7 million COVID cases have been reported in the U.S., causing 261,049 hospitalizations and 17,289 deaths.
COVID cases continue to rise across the U.S., reaching the highest level since March. Emergency department visits are up among all age groups and highest in young children, according to the CDC.
