Here I want to show one of the early stages of developing the underground rat/mole race. Usually, when I’m tasked with creating a race or a civilization, after gathering references and defining a general direction, I start sketching their proportions and anatomy.

Several variations of the elephant blacksmith. I drew quite a lot of iterations and sketches for this character to find a personality that I find interesting and that helps reveal his story.
