Dr. Bilal Ansari and Ph.D. candidate Semih Kiyma spoke at the Respect Graduate School conference on Fethullah Gülen’s Thought and Practice. Dr. Ansari discussed peacebuilding through education, and Kiyma explored Gülen’s post-2016 spiritual leadership. Congrats to both!
In celebration of Sukkot, Dr. Deena Grant led a meaningful session in front of the Sukkah created by our multi-faith student community — a reflection of how learning across traditions strengthens our shared values.
Each year, the HIU community participates in constructing a Sukkah for Sukkot, a holiday that celebrates both the harvest and the Israelites’ time wandering in the desert.
From classroom learning to hands-on service — students of the International Peacebuilding program spent the day at Connecticut Foodshare, helping prepare meals for families in need.

The course Constructive Conflict Intervention places emphasis on experiential learning. By engaging directly in conflict resolution practices, students refine their ability to navigate complex challenges and promote cooperative outcomes.

A new cohort of Indonesians in the PKUMI program is here! Run by the Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta, it provides Indonesian graduate students in the writing stages of their MA and P.hD. programs with the opportunity to immerse themselves in an American, interreligious, and intercultural environment.
