when i created deimos, i was inspired by the german rap song "freie liebe" (free love). this is very embarrassing, but i made a twofold mistake in interpreting it. first, i knew "free love" was a hippie phrase and because of the lyrics of the song, i thought it literally meant

the colour configuration of harrow's beard may not be 100% realistic but honestly it's my favourite part of his design so it doesn't matter. i hope it makes him instantly recognisable as a character

wondering if harrow had a chocobo of his own growing up. one of the defining features of a knight was riding a horse after all. if he (and the House in general) did, what happened to them... because i consider the grand company issued chocobo canon, so surely he didn't have one before

being sponsored by one of the high houses was almost a pyrrhic victory for harrow bc he got what he always wanted (recognition and admittance into ishgard) but only after the mess that was the banquet - losing companions he'd actually grown to care about. but to answer the initial question,

given that the timber industry was prominent in coerthas before the calamity and that there were some rivers and lakes in the larger region, i am proposing a folk legend in the vein of la chasse-galerie.

really recommend becoming a nerd about one or two specific topics and doing research for the purpose of 1. flexing the brain and 2. flesh out OC to depths of which the writers of mid videogame could never have conceived

there is a difference in how harrow was brought up vs how typical knights were. he lived and was educated in his own family's estate, instead of being sent to another castle's court. and it was probably hardly even a castle. the house can't have been wealthy or prestigious enough for that.

i don't know why i assumed that knights = nobles = they don't do the dirty job of hunting and cutting up animals for food, but the book is saying that was part of a young knight's training, so i was completely right in having harrow learn that set of skills too

there are lots of hints supporting the hc that ali may have had feelings for other women or that other women had crushes on her, and i feel bad taking that away from her character. how can i honour her sapphic experience and not make it seem like harrow is the one man who changed her mind
