Sixers & Basketball talk for LibertyBallers.com

I wrote about MarJon being a Blue Coat to watch as a possible conversion about a month ago (link below). This move makes sense, especially if Beauchamp can hit shots like he has in the G. The Sixers gave Sallis plenty of runway, but he never really popped off.

The Sixers are signing MarJon Beauchamp to a two-way contract, per Tony Jones of The Athletic. They’ll waive Hunter Sallis to make space.

The Sixers fall to 1-4 in games played without VJ Edgecombe.
December 24, 2025 at 2:41 AM
The Sixers had several key players out tonight, but that doesn’t excuse the loss. They were embarrassed by arguably the worst team in the NBA on their home court. That’s a loss that will hurt in the grand scheme of things.
December 24, 2025 at 2:38 AM
Sixers are about to follow up two of their better wins on the season with their worst loss I can remember. Always a roller coaster with this team.

The NBA is considering updates to the draft lottery rules to curb tanking and player shutdowns. Several examples of record manipulation were highlighted — including last year’s Sixers, which is honestly some next-level galaxy brain stuff.

Report: NBA to ‘brainstorm’ new ways to combat tanking
The league is discussing anti-tanking measures, so of course the Sixers will come up.

The Clippers are bad, making the Sixers’ ’28 pick and ’29 swap look like marquee draft assets. I wouldn’t trade either — except for these 15 players, four of which could become available.

www.libertyballers.com/76ers-analys...
The Sixers shouldn’t trade the Clippers’ assets. But if they do …
Should the Sixers be willing to move the Clippers’ valuable future draft assets? It depends who’s available.

Surprised at how badly this partnership aged. It’s been a rough year for Yabu — he’s shooting 39.4% from the field, 30.6% from three, and playing just 9.6 minutes per game. He played 27.1 with the Sixers.
December 22, 2025 at 1:34 PM
Sixers complete the NYK–MAVS B2B with flying colors. The VJ Maxx backcourt produced 127 points and 21 assists (just 6 turnovers), shooting 52.3% from the field and 42.5% from three across these two games.
December 21, 2025 at 2:27 AM
Andre Drummond’s shooting progression has been wild. He’s hitting 42.1% from three on 1.4 attempts per game. That jumps to 53.8% on the road compared to 33.3% at home, and he’s shooting 46.4% (13/28) on corner threes.
December 20, 2025 at 8:58 PM
That’s the Sixers’ best win of the season. Beating arguably the best team in the East, and only the second time the Knicks have lost at home. Maxey didn’t miss a beat, but VJ Edgecombe deserves the shine tonight: 23/3/4/2/1 on 55.6% shooting with phenomenal defense on Brunson.

Andre Drummond becoming one of the better corner three shooters in the league in year 13 is what it’s all about

Think I’m officially in on the NBA cup IF…

• They fix the unbalanced (and bad) scheduling
• They ditch the ugly/possibly dangerous courts
December 17, 2025 at 4:18 AM
The official account for NBA refs double downed that the sequence with NAW was not a backcourt violation. Which, uh, is a stance.

They also called out Alaa, on the record, which is one of the crazier things I’ve ever seen from an official NBA account.

Celebrating the unofficial start of trade season with a 2,500-word deep dive into what (or who) the Sixers should trade for: plenty of no’s, a few yes’s, and some intriguing names I haven’t seen anyone else bring up but should.

What should the Sixers actually trade for?
Dec. 15 marks the official start of NBA trade season. Here are a few thoughts on what the Sixers could do as they navigate a lot of uncertainty.

It definitely wasn’t intentional, but the silver lining of Tyrese Maxey missing these two games is that he’ll get 11 straight days of rest — basically an All-Star break. After tonight, the Sixers don’t play again until the 19th.

Feel better soon, Maxey!
The Sixers just ruled Tyrese Maxey (illness) OUT for tonight's game @ Atlanta. Joel Embiid remains questionable.
December 14, 2025 at 5:52 PM
This has to be the last season with these terrible courts. Not only are they stupidly ugly, but they’re dangerous for the players.
December 14, 2025 at 1:14 AM
Phenomenal night from VJ Edgecombe — 22 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals on 6/10 shooting. Got to the line 10 times, had zero turnovers, and was +17. He scaled up really well with Maxey out. Promising stuff from the 20-year-old.
December 13, 2025 at 2:36 AM
Genuinely cool to see Embiid put up 39/9/3. His best game in a while, and he was moving well. With Maxey out, he stepped up. Another great Paul George game too (22/6/5/1). It hasn’t quite panned out, but this was one of those nights where you saw the vision with this core.

VJ Edgecombe acting different now that he has some basketball accessories on. Makes ya think

Part of me is really glad TJ McConnell landed in Indy. As we head into 2026, he’s been there nearly seven years already. That’s an incredible story and career for an undrafted guy. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he ends up spending his entire career with just two teams.

It remains to be seen how the Delaware Blue Coats’ newest deal pans out, but it marks a sort of reunion between the Sixers and their 2021 second-round draftee.

Charles Bassey was traded to the Blue Coats. What does that mean for the former Sixer?
