Non-fast-travel methods of transportation.

There is simply no need nowadays to have to physically walk, drive, fly, etc. from one physical location to another in games. It only adds boring dead areas where you're only holding one button for a long time.

Here's a weird UI element that'll take forever to fully explain. Essentially, you can bank feathers collected during your game, and if you game over, you can spend your banked feathers on powerups to help you in your next playthrough. #gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

a heartrate sensor that's connected to a large UI element onscreen that shows your real-life heartrate over an animated image of a pulsating realistic human heart that becomes redder and pulses faster when your heartrate is higher and gets blacker and pulses slower when your heartrate is low.
