Somewhat sensationalist headline here obscures some really interesting research - which tallies with other available tracking data - on shifting attitudes to climate in the UK.

Below are a few quick thoughts on how to understand this, in my view πŸ‘‡ t.co/gDqlQgQBHn

Our CEO Moazzam Malik spoke to @yaldahakim.bsky.social at @news.sky.com about the deadly militarised aid distribution system in Gaza and how the UK Government has become an ally to Israel's atrocities.

It’s worse than β€œGaza is being starved and destroyed and no one cares.” It’s that hundreds of millions *do* care and are powerless to stop it. We need a world where that can never happen, where the masses actually have political power.

🌍 The climate crisis is a #HumanRights emergency, destroying homes, livelihoods, and cultures.

On July 23, the International Court of Justice #ICJ will issue its advisory opinion on #ClimateChange.

This moment could embed human rights into global #ClimateLaw and hold polluters accountable.

New blog from Maria Balarin and me on the need for a greater focus on justice in education...
What does justice in education look like in times of global crisis?

This week on the @NORRAG blog, MarΓa Balarin & Lizzi O. Milligan reflect on the JustEd project and call for a deeper shiftβ€”towards education as justice, rooted in rich pedagogy and epistemic equity.

At least four linguistic tricks going on here:

1) foregrounding with Iran war which the BBC depicts as just
2) passive voice 'have been killed' - by who, may we ask?
3) 'Hamas-run health ministry' - casting doubt/diverting sympathy
4) 'under review' - casting further doubt

I don't get very far through most doctoral advice because it usually starts with something like 'remember to not work weekends and evenings...' by contrast this is really well tailored and useful (watched, in classic part-time fashion, in a Eurostar passport queue)
Are you doing a part time doctorate? Or maybe you support part time doctoral
researchers? Recently I ran a workshop for go-gn based on the book I wrote with @kayguccione.bsky.social and as if by magic they have produced an edited version on YouTube m.youtube.com/watch?si=Uw8...

At the same time when ODA levels to education have decreased and we're seeing additional cuts to education by large donors - UK and US. We also need more action on tax justice and debt relief for domestic countries to finance education and finance it sustainably.
πŸ”΄ 272M children and youth are #OutOfSchool: 21M more than previously estimated.
New UN data and stalled enrolment progress, especially in crisis-affected countries, explain the rise.

Better data must drive stronger action.

Brilliant to see the #PandemicAccord officially adopted after years of negotiations - and with the references we've advocated for on human rights, the definition of people in vulnerable situations, and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
It's official: the #PandemicAccord is officially adopted by the World Health Assembly!

My warmest congratulations to @who.int Member States for their commitment to keeping their people and the world safer.

What a moment in global health history. Together!

The promises, the corridor talk, the protests. The excessive control of governments, and who was left off the agenda. And what we need to do now.
