Graph Transformers (GTs) can handle long-range dependencies and resolve information bottlenecks, but they’re computationally expensive. Our new model, Spexphormer, helps scale them to much larger graphs – check it out at NeurIPS next week, or the preview here!

1/ Introducing TxPert: a new model that predicts transcriptional responses across diverse biological contexts

It’s designed to generalize across unseen single-gene perturbations, novel combinations of gene perturbations, and even new cell types 🧵

Loved working on the TxPert project! It's also exciting to see my PhD work on Graph Transformers (Exphormer model) finding such meaningful application in a critical real-world task.
5/ As an important first step toward the Predict capability of this framework, we are also introducing TxPert: a state-of-the-art model for predicting transcriptional responses to genetic perturbations, especially in out-of-distribution scenarios

Pack 1: go.bsky.app/2VWBcCd
Pack 2: go.bsky.app/Bw84Hmc

DM if you want to be included (or nominate people who should be!)
I tried to make a bioml starter pack. DM if you want me to add or remove you?

Periodic reminder: submitting on #arXiv is great! But the source is available: good per se, but remember to remove LaTeX comments you don't want to be made public.

Thankfully, there are tools that do that (and more) easily and automatically for you! E.g., arXiv-collector:

GitHub - djsutherland/arxiv-collector: A little Python script to collect LaTeX sources for upload to the arXiv.
