The sound of the utensil has summoned Willow. By allowing her to lick the plate clean (after checking that the food is cat-safe) after almost every meal, I look up from scraping the last bit of oatmeal from my bowl to see this hopeful face. Checking if cats can eat oatmeal now--a little is okay.

Who else out there faking it?
I am over a half-century old and have never produced an entire Thanksgiving meal from scratch. I don't like turkey. I have been bringing sides to my relatives' houses or cooking there (often pies) my entire adult life. I have, however, made beef Wellington for Xmas.

Imposter syndrome severely tested as the motion sensor in the restroom refuses to acknowledge my presence and remains dark for several seconds; then the faucet sensors don't start the water after I've put soap on my hands, forcing me to open the door with a paper towel and use the break room sink.
