My WOL's Viera village NPCs!! I've currently written about 35k about their adventures 15 years before ARR, so I've gotten pretty attached I think. 🥹

She thinks she hears multiple footsteps hitting the compacted dirt-paths of their campsite, but Celia doesn't seem to notice. "My, erm, friends are trustworthy, you can let your guard down with them, Celia." "Let— Let my guard down, Val?!" Celia's voice peaks, immediately ensuing in a coughing fit, but when she leans over to help her, the woman raises a hand. "I-I trust you, but you cannot ask me to trust your… your conspirators so easily. You know how hard this is for me, would it be so difficult to just— to just tell me what's going on, Val? Or should I call you M—" Black text on a white background that reads: Celia began to cough again, and Dubhán's hand, glowing, rising to aid her— Morna leans to grabs her wrist without thinking, the memory of Celia struggling to move away from their healing magicks, even as she burned with a fever, even as she struggled to breathe enough to take what was left of her emergency medication in her satchet. Celia's words ringing in her head, you know how hard this is for me. "M-Morna…?" Dubhán doesn't hide the surprise in her voice, and Morna realizes whatever expression she must be making could look almost monstrous to her— so unlike the gentle sibling she remembered. "What's wrong?" "Tell her, before you use healing magicks." Morna manages to say it calmly, relaxing her jaw and unhanding her sister's wrist. "Tell her what you intend to do."

He bows and takes her hand, the ghost of his lips above her knuckles, in gratitude for the mercy of her presence; the Fury does not give visions without purpose. It is by Her grace that he gives the boy a way to connect with Ishgard— he knows She must have weaved this meeting into being. He would follow the thread of destiny without fear, for they walked in company of the Fury. Aymeric feels as if she, too, understood that this was but one step in a divine plan. It is many moons and many more dreams after when he grasps a semblance of truth, the ancient script of the Fury's prophecy becoming legible; but only when it is too late. Already the white king with his swords had desecrated Her halls— and he laid deep within the recesses of the Vault, where light dared not tread.
